Katie is a seasoned stylist licensed since 2005 and Redken Color Certified. She moved across the country from the charming Florida Panhandle in 2010, to follow her Pacific North West dreams. While managing a local Barbershop she also attended intensive KMS and Goldwell training. In addition, she spent time as a traveling educator, for Redken, and received extensive training on the Rodney Cuttler method of hair design. Rodney Cuttler is most known for Emma Watson’s pixie cut. Katie follows current trends through continuing education and by keeping an eye on the runway. She knows how to match the right look to the right face shape and to a person’s natural underlying tone, and lifestyle.

As for Katie’s style, she says,

“I love Retro styles. I like mixing and matching styles from the 50′s to the 90′s. I’ve always had an eye for design, and love to get crafty from time to time.”

Katie enjoys volunteering her time for a good cause, such as The Sisters Of The Road – free haircut day. She performed 27 haircuts in 8 hours with proceeds helping the homeless with a hot meal or a night out of the cold. When she was in school Katie volunteered at a retirement home, helping with meals or just providing a little company. She learned compassion for all people at a young age.

She says that one of the best things about her job is the people that she meets. Katie, a big horror movie fan, once had the opportunity to do Linnea Quigley’s hair (Return of the Living Dead). “She loved my friend’s haircut and requested me in person.”

“I know I’ve done a good job when I can change the way people feel about their hair. I tell my clients to focus on what their hair is already doing, naturally, not on what it’s not doing. I love designing hair, It will show when you’re in my chair.”
